Our Approach
JACS Vancouver offers trauma-informed services that take a multidisciplinary approach to supporting those experiencing addiction and their families. JACS provides on evidenced-based support and uses a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of care. JACS’s relationships with community partners and treatment services allow for concurrent services, which recognize mental health and substance use often go hand in hand.
JACS Vancouver believes in destigmatizing addictions and mental health and uses a harm reduction framework. Harm reduction provides life-saving supports for people who are in active addiction, to reduce any potential harm associated with using substances. It can take time to reach out for help for many people, harm reduction keeps people safe in the meantime. Integrating Jewish cultural customs, spiritual practices and community into care is integral to JACS commitment to destigmatizing addictions within the Jewish community.
